It's hard to believe we are just two short weeks out to launching our current A Life Together DTS on outreach. The past four months have been yet another epic whirlwind of welcome and wonder… imagination and memory… discipleship, community and reconciliation!
After six weeks of intentional staff training with our amazing ALT staff body (seriously they are AMAZING) we welcomed eight students from five nations - Brazil, Benin, Australia, Zimbabwe and South Africa - here in Cape Town as we ran headfirst into the 2017 A Life Together DTS. These past ten weeks of lectures and discipleship, which we are hosting at YWAM, Muizenberg this year, have been some of our all time favorites. Lots of growth, transformation and imagination building as we have dug into the gospel narrative and asked how Jesus can animate our lives and transform a world at war with itself. God has been so kind and faithful and tangible as we have tried, yet again, to embrace deeper unity and solidarity in all our diversity. What we are continually discovering is that anything is really possible when we just let God love our whole person, as God already does, and then love one anther (even our enemies) with a reckless love more powerful than hate. What a privilege to partner with wild folk the world over and seek to make real the world we dream of.
In two short weeks we are excited to launch the school out to Amman, Jordan where they will continue to journey in community, working hand in hand with various Kingdom initiatives and expressions within Y there. In December, just before we celebrate the incarnation, we’ll have two weeks back in Cape Town debriefing the journey and wrapping up the school...
We welcome your prayers as we try to finish this lecture season strong and then transition the school to Jordan. We need energy, stamina and depth… pray with us that these last two weeks of lecture phase be full of life and substance… may they facilitate space for deeper and deeper transformation in the lives of our students and staff.
We also still have one student in need of visas and a handful of folks still raising the remainder of their outreach fees, around R80,000 (about $6,000) in total... So pray with us for logistical breakthrough that everyone may be able to continue on to Jordan as a team.
Peace & love for now... we adore you all.
More updates to come soon!!!
